Santiago, Chile
Santiago, Chile (Weather)

Valparaiso, Chile
This charming port is known as the "city of 43 hills." Ascend
native-style in a funicular to see winding cobbled streets and brightly
colored houses set against the clear blue sea. La Sebastiano, home of
Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, is nestled in the hills. Excursions from
Valparaiso lead to Santiago, Chile's capital city. Valparaiso, Chile

Puerto Montt, Chile

The capital of Chile's Lake District, Puerto Montt is surrounded by
rolling farmland, Bavarian hamlets and beautiful coastline. It's home
to giant Alerce trees, that can live for 3,000 years and are related to
California's giant redwoods. You'll be enchanted by the immense blue
Lake Llanquihue, thunderous Petrohue River Falls and the snow-covered
Volcano Osorno. Puerto Montt, Chile

Punta Arenas, Chile

With a breathtaking view overlooking the Strait of Magellan, Punta
Arenas is in the southernmost region on Earth. Otway Sound is home to
colonies of sea lions and Magellanic penguins, and an excursion to the
penguin settlements makes for a fun and easy day trip. Punta Arenas is
one of only a few places where you can snow ski while looking down on
the ocean. Punta Arenas, Chile

Ushuaia, Argentina
On the very tip of South America, Ushuaia is surrounded on three sides
by dramatic peaks. The area is characterized by the amazing scenery of
the Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego, with magnificent mountains,
hanging glaciers, sphagnum bogs, clear lakes and rushing rivers. Here,
you may see wildlife ranging from Andean condors to beavers, sea lions
and albatross. Ushuaia, Argentina (Weather)

Tierra del Fuego
Visit the Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego and see magnificent
mountains, hanging glaciers, sphagnum bogs, clear lakes and rushing
rivers – or catch a glimpse of abundant wildlife. The summer season
offers a variety of activities for visitors, such as hiking, horseback
riding, mountain biking and fishing.

Straits of Magellan
Named after the Portuguese explorer who discovered the Tierra del
Fuego, the 360-mile strait isolates the archipelago from the rest of
South America. Imagine yourself as the explorer's first mate as you
cruise from the Atlantic to the Pacific upon the still, misty waters of
this romantic route.

Cape Horn, Chile
At Cape Horn, two great oceans -- the Atlantic and the Pacific -- greet
one another. Our passage offers many opportunities to see abundant
wildlife, with a naturalist on board to narrate. Horn Island in the
Tierra Del Fuego archipelago, is the southernmost point of the
Americas.

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands
Since 1842, Port Stanley has been the capital of the Falkland Islands,
a British territory. The Port Stanley area is known for its abundant
wildlife and excellent trout fishing. Sites of historic interest
include Christ Church Cathedral, built in 1892.
Port Stanley (Mount Pleasant), Falkland Islands (Weather)

Puerto Madryn, Argentina
This Argentine port provides an entrance to the spectacular wildlife
region of Patagonia, with its glacier-dotted mountainous interior,
Andean national parks and unique coastal wildlife. The area's natural
wonders include Peninsula Valdés, home to large populations of elephant
seals, sea lions, Magellanic penguins, flamingos and whales.
Rio Grande, Argentina  (Weather)

Buenos Aires, Argentina
"The Paris of the South," as it is known, has a Theater Opera House, a
cathedral and lovely parklands. You can visit the Presidential Palace
and museums near the Plaza de Mayo. Or tour Puerto Madero, Buenos
Aires' old port, transformed into a boardwalk with fine restaurants and
one-of-a-kind shops.  Buenos Aires, Argentina
