We are near the northern tip of Europe. But swimming is still comfortable (for some poeple) on this beach. The water temperature - even in the open water - is around 60 degrees F (16 C). |

The reindeer lose the antlers each year in the early winter. Pregnant females retain their antlers so as to protect themselves, then shed them in the spring. |

Large herds of reindeer (about 5000 each herd) roam the area in the summer. They are tended by the Sami people. |
