An old streetcar runs along St. Charles from the Central Business District through the Garden District and out past the Zoo.
The entrance to an impressive Zoo.
Flamingos just inside the gate
This monster was ready to entertain us.
The elephants were well trained and fun to watch.
Back in the French quarter the building style is similar to this.
Street entertainers abound.
One mode of transport is the horse and carriage - about $10 each for 30 minutes.
Louis Armstrong was clearly the ambassador of New Orleans and Jazz.
Bourbon Street. Today it is mostly bars and novelty shops and less.

Street artists also abound as well as fortune tellers and who knows what?
Another much more modern streetcar along the river.
Numerous shops and restaurants along the Mississippi River. Something for the cruise passenger and other tourists.
I went on a walking tour of the French Quarter. My guide was Bill Norris - a very knowledgeable person.
Bienville was the founder of New Orleans.
The St. Louis Cathedral with Andrew Jackson in the foreground.
Andrew Jackson, who led the Battle of New Orleans and routed the British just after the end of the War of 1812.
Joan of Arc - also known to locals as "Joanie on a Pony."
More street musicians. Some were quite talented.
