Waterfalls in Iceland

We have seen countless waterfalls. Here are some extraordinary examples:
Note: The suffix "foss" means waterfall so the use of the word "waterfall" is redundant.

Gullfoss -
"Golden Falls"

The flow of the river from the regular rains and the glacial runoff, particularly in summer, makes Gullfoss the largest volume falls in Europe.

The river is the Hvita (White River)

Dettifoss - a very large waterfall. The water on this rainy day was gray

100 m wide - 44 m drop
(300 ft wide- 135 ft drop)

Notes

Godafoss (God's Falls)

Svartifoss

Hafragilsfoss

Downstream from the Hafragilsfoss we could see the convergence of the water from a stream into the muddy water.

Dynjandifoss is the biggest waterfall in the West Fjords of Iceland.  The waterfall consists of 7 waterfalls, each of them has a name and one of them is Dynjandi.  Dynjandi means “thunderous”.  The total height of the waterfalls is about 100 m.
