In addition to the complex traffic of people, buses, trucks, tractors, and camels we now had fog with visibility often less than 500 feet ahead. But the road surface was mercifully smooth.

What makes this Hindu temple a bit different is that there are rats (actually called kabas) running loose - lots of them. Naturally, we were required to take off our shoes to go in this and all temples........ |

.....it is said to be good luck if the rats run over your bare or stocking feet (they did) ........

......but the real good fortune comes if you eat that yellow stuff after the rats have nibbled on it. We thought this out carefully for about one millisecond and decided we would take our chances on luck and decline this experience.
(Note: After visiting this temple we did not get ill for the remainder of the trip and all of our arrangements worked out smoothly from that time forward.) |
