		Washington, DC is famous for the more than 3,700 cherry trees at various locations around the monuments. The Tidal basin itself has 1,405 Yoshino trees. The blossoms for 2007 reached full bloom on April 1-2. Most of the photos you see on this page were taken on April 2, 2007. There are many ways to see the blossoms. I went to the Tidal Basin on the public Metro Rail via the Smithsonian Station and walked the rest. Other people come by car, bus, train, plane, stroller, roller blades, paddle boat, bicycle and helicopter.

This National Park Service maps shows the location of the blossoms and monuments. The Smithsonian Metro Station is a short distance to the right of the upper right corner. I walked clockwise around the Tidal Basin. Other days I walked in the opposite direction,

The blossoms in full bloom

Those who are a little more equal than others may possibly view the blossoms for 30 seconds from the window of a military helicopter (there are many that go by at about 300 feet above the water). These helicopters look similar to the ones used to carry Very Important People....

Automobile drivers must have a great deal of patience. On the weekends it is really congested.
