Crocodylus Village

	This van with trailer took us about 50 miles (2 hours) north to our next stop in the Daintree Rainforest.
	Bananas bagged on the trees along the way. The other crop is sugar cane.
	This is a full-scale model of the cassowary. We did not see any. It is about the size of an emu or large ostrich.
	Frequent signs warning of the possibility.

	The common area of this Youth Hostel and Resort.
	An interesting walk through the rainforest (in the rain, of course). It is very dim under the canopy of the rainforest. My light meter suggested a flash all the time. We went on a night walk in the jungle with a colorful guide named Possum. He knew where the opossums, spiders, pigs, bandicoots, and sleeping birds lived as well as all kinds of trees, ferns, fungi, and much more. Very informative and interesting. And it did not rain!!
	Our bed with mosquito netting. Our repellent was very effective as long as it did not get washed off.
	This picture taken in mid-day. At night the generator goes off at midnight. The darkness is profound - like a cave.
	Internet access right on location!
	A little diversion is available. Crocodylus Village is not the place to be if one needs a lot to do. We found the place idyllic.
